Join or Renew IEOC Membership

IEOC Purpose

This non-profit membership-driven organization was formed in 2009 to bring together medical professionals who are interested in the field of equine ophthalmology in order to collectively advance the science of equine ophthalmology and to improve the care of equine patients. Members must apply and meet qualifications to join. As of 2025 IEOC membership numbers 248 representing more than 20 different countries around the world. 

Membership Qualifications

An invitation to join the IEOC is extended to any Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), or equivalent, clinician or non-veterinarian clinical researcher who is interested in equine ophthalmology. This includes all veterinary ophthalmologists, internists, surgeons and other specialists, as well as general practitioners or researchers with an interest in equine ophthalmology. 

Membership is also open to veterinary residents, and to DVM or equivalent students. Individuals in the latter group are required to be sponsored by a member veterinarian.

Dues Fees and Calendar

The dues cycle follows the calendar year, opening by November 15th and closing May 15th  annually. Prorating is not provided. All members must be renewed to submit registration for the Symposium each spring. The 2026 dues fees are $185USD, and trainees are $110USD, a $50 late fee will be charged for submissions made on or after February 1st. Lapsed members will be charged a $20 application processing fee for handling, paid upon renewal after approval is provided. 

Renewing, Current Members

Thank you for maintaining your IEOC membership! The upcoming dues renewal cycle will reopen by November 15th annually. Dues renewal closes May 31st annually. 

Lapsed or New 2026 Members

Lapsed Members: These are members who do not choose to renew annually. The IEOC welcomes any past member to re-apply, an application form and credentials submission will be required for re-submission and approval. Once dues renewals open in November of 2025, to re-apply an application form will need to be submitted for committee review. Once approved, a dues form and link will be provided for submission. Lapsed members will pay an additional $20 application processing fee.
